Wyden to hold Lincoln City town hall

Ron Wyden

U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden will kick off the new year with a series of town hall meetings Jan. 4-7, with a Jan. 5 appearance in Lincoln County.

Heading into these seven town halls, Wyden has held 913 town halls statewide as part of his pledge to Oregonians that he would hold at least one annual town hall in each of the state’s 36 counties.

“With the start of a new Congress, it’s important to throw open the doors of government and listen to Oregonians’ ideas for what they want accomplished,” Wyden said. “These open-to-all town hall meetings are part of what I call the ‘Oregon Way’ that focuses on conversations and solutions.”

Wyden was selected by the Town Hall Project as the “Senate MVP” for 2018, after holding 52 open town hall meetings with his constituents last year — reportedly, the most of any member of the U.S. Senate.

On Saturday, Jan. 5, Wyden will be visiting Tillamook and Lincoln Counties. Starting in Lincoln County, the senator will hold a town hall meeting at the Lincoln City Cultural Center, 540 NE Hwy 101, beginning at noon. At 3:30 p.m. Wyden will be at the Port of Tillamook Bay Officers Mess Hall, 6825 Officer’s Row Road, hosting the Tillamook County town hall.
