How do storytellers and poets help to reveal the world around us — and our place in it? At the Sunday, Feb. 18, meeting of Willamette Writers’ coast branch, author Susan DeFreitas will focus on writing as a tool for mindfulness in developing and deepening our sense of place.
Participants will explore both poetry and prose, gaining tools for “seeing and saying” what often goes unnoticed in the rush of their daily lives. Appropriate for seasoned writers and curious newcomers alike, this class will incorporate elements of natural history, the poetic tradition and contemporary literature of the West.
