Waldport man to stand trial for kidnapping

NEWPORT — Brady Endicott, 47, Waldport, is currently set to undergo a jury trial from April 4-9 at the Lincoln County Circuit Court. He is accused of three counts of kidnapping, two counts of coercion, six counts of menacing, two counts of assault, five counts of harassment, recklessly endangering another person and reckless driving, as well as weapons- and drug-related charges, according to a second amended indictment.

A probable cause affidavit filed in November states the victim told police that Endicott made her open a gun safe in her home, then threatened her with an assault rifle and physically attacked her. Additional information in the affidavit says the victim told police his car was rigged with pipe bombs, and that an Oregon State Police bomb squad came to the scene.

Endicott was booked in the Lincoln County Jail in November on $200,000 bail and according to court documents, twice waived his right to a speedy trial within 60 days.

Endicott also has a pre-trial no contact order against him, preventing him from contacting the victim in the case.
