Volunteers place flags at cemetery

A group of volunteers braved the wet weather on Saturday morning, May 25, to place more than 800 flags on the graves of veterans buried at Eureka Cemetery in Newport in preparation for Memorial Day. Groups taking part included members of the Newport Church of the Nazarene, Boy Scout Troop 240 and the Newport High Student Leadership class, as well as local residents who showed up to lend their support.
