Volunteers learn lifesaving skills

Toledo Fire holds first responders training session

TOLEDO — The Toledo Fire Department hosted a joint training session focusing on four scenarios of motor vehicle crashes, plus how to load a patient into a helicopter. On March 3, many of Lincoln County’s first medical responders — some who had just completed Emergency Medical Responder training, some who had just completed advanced Emergency Medical Technician training and some with more experience — gathered at the fire department to enhance their skills in treatment, extrication and triage of trauma victims resulting from automobile accidents. Assisting in the training were the fire department’s Major Emergency Response Group (MERG), Pacific West Ambulance and Life Flight.
