Two accused of sex abuse held in Lincoln County Jail

John Giordano, 52, Otis, was booked in the Lincoln County Jail Feb. 22 on charges of sexual abuse, harassment and private indecency, according to an indictment filed Feb. 28. The probable cause affidavit in that case states Giordano worked as a nurse at a clinic in Lincoln City in March 2017, and during that time sexually assaulted a female patient.

In a separate incident, according to the probable cause affidavit, Giordano is accused of sexually assaulting a different patient at the clinic as well as multiple female medics. The incident involving the medics was investigated by the Oregon Health Authority.

In another sex abuse case, Homer Wampler, 39, who is in the Lincoln County Jail pending trial on charges involving child sex abuse, is currently scheduled to go to trial from May 3 to 10, according to a notice of a scheduled court appearance.

The Newport resident faces four charges of online sexual corruption of a child, two counts of luring a minor, five counts of encouraging child sexual abuse, three counts of purchasing sex with a minor, two counts of rape and two counts of sodomy, in addition to unlawful delivery of a controlled substance to a minor and tampering with a witness, according to an amended indictment.
