Get ready for an adventure in Charleston and Coos Bay as the Newport 60+
Activity Center hosts a trip to the Charleston Marine Life Center and Shore Acres State Park on Thursday, March 14.
Located on the edge of the harbor in Charleston, the Charleston Marine Life Center features a tide pool touch tank, an aquarium that displays a large assortment of animals collected directly off the coast by marine biologists, students and volunteers, and a museum with exhibits that detail the animals found off the Oregon coast.
Perched on rugged sandstone cliffs high above the ocean, Shore Acres State Park is a combination of natural and constructed features. Once the grand estate of pioneer timber baron Louis Simpson, Shore Acres features lushly planted gardens with plants and flowers from all over the world. Something is in bloom almost every day of the year.
The cost for this trip is $28 (lunch not included). The Newport 60+ Adventure Van will be leaving at 8 a.m. and returning by 6 p.m.
