Tracking rules change as Dungeness season delay looms


NEWPORT — It’s still early in the decision-making process, but there’s concern that the scheduled opening of Oregon’s Dungeness crab season next month may be delayed for the third consecutive year. Recent testing of the crab’s meat-fill recovery showed that the Dungeness fell below the minimum size, and it’s feared that domoic acid levels are again above the 30 parts per million threshold.
