Top swimmers expected at Seahorse Invitational

NEWPORT — The Seahorse Invitational is expected to draw about 130 top swimmers from around the state Aug. 9-11 at the Newport Aquatic Center.

The iconic event, hosted by the Newport Swim Team (NST), has been a much-anticipated swim season finale’ for over 40 years, according to organizers.

The public is invited to watch the thrilling spectacle as a dozen teams from Portland, Hood River, Tillamook, The Dalles and other swim-minded clubs send their best talent to Newport. Times for the events, held under the sanction of USA Swimming, are:

Friday, Aug. 9, 6-8 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 10, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Sunday, Aug. 11, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
