TOLEDO — With the city planner/city attorney deployed on military service overseas, the Toledo City Council voted unanimously the night of Aug. 1 to create the position of city planner, departing from the previous practice of including both roles in one job.
The man fulfilling both roles for the city, Michael Adams, was deployed last year. According to Toledo city officials, he and they won’t know until Sept. 30 if his deployment will be extended.
“He’s in J.A.G. [Judge Advocate General], and he’s very valued in that role,” said Deanne Dunlap, Toledo city councilor. “He’s doing good work, and we’re keeping apprised of the situation.”
