Toledo Library to get new microfilm reader/scanner

The Toledo Public Library recently received an anonymous donation of funds that will pay for the purchase a ScanPro 2000 microfilm and microfiche reader/scanner.

The Toledo Library has a wealth of historical information recorded on microfilm and microfiche. Its old machine was a workhorse for many years, however, the new machine not only offers access to the films, but also updates the ways to handle and communicate that information for new applications and ease of access.

The library reminds patrons that it has microfilm copies as far back as 1893 of the Lincoln County Leader, the county newspaper that eventually became the News-Times.

Library officials expressed appreciation to the anonymous donor that made this significant upgrade possible. For more information, contact the library at 541-335-3132 or [email protected]
