Tigers look to fix small mistakes in second game

LINCOLN CITY — Football is often called “a game of inches.” But when looking at the 55-7 score of Taft High School’s first game against Salem Academy, the game could’ve been measured by miles. Despite the 48-point loss to last year’s 3A state runner-up, Taft Head Coach Jake Tolan said he thinks his team is better than the score showed, and that they can rebound in their game against Colton High School on Friday, Sept. 8. “The score of 55-7 isn’t really indicative of the ballgame,” Tolan said. “Yes they beat us, and yes they were a better team than us, but it was a closer game than the score indicated.”
