Theater troupe to protest proposed gas pipeline

NEWPORT — Environmental activist group 350 Oregon Central Coast — claiming Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s proposed liquid natural gas pipeline that would end at a terminal in Coos Bay will cause drastic detrimental changes to the area — is staging a short theater production followed by a letter-writing workshop. “A troupe of performing activists in conjunction with 350 Portland will perform a 20-25 minute skit putting into theatrical context concerns over fracking and the liquid natural gas pipeline and terminal proposed for Coos Bay,” said Bill Kucha, founder of 350occ during a June 15 telephone interview.
