Students build, sell and plan ahead

First tiny home project ready for buyer

WALDPORT — A student construction crew worked to help solve the housing shortage, learn about sustainability and gain career skills by building a tiny home shell that will soon be for sale to earn money for their next project — another tiny home, this one finished inside and out. “Students themselves came up with the concept, created the designs with an architect, and selected which would be the best design for what they feel a local client would find to be the most livable. Students were involved in every single detail down to what stain color they preferred,” said teacher Melissa Steinman in a media release.
