YACHATS — Katyna Alyona Pliler, 18, of Waldport, was issued a citation by the Oregon State Police for failing to maintain her lane of travel following a single-vehicle crash at around 11:20 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 27. The accident occurred on Highway 101 near milepost 174, south of Yachats.

OSP Trooper Scott Severson conducted an investigation, which determined the Ford Focus driven by Pliler was headed north on Highway 101 when it crossed the centerline. The truck then veered back into the northbound lane and rotated before overturning and coming to an uncontrolled rest on its top, facing south on the northbound shoulder.

Pliler and a passenger in the vehicle reportedly both suffered minor injuries, but they declined transportation to the hospital.

OSP was assisted on the scene by the Oregon Department of Transportation, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office and the Yachats Rural Fire Protection District. The owner arranged for the vehicle to be towed by Mast Bro’s Towing.
