Scott Edward Doll, 58, of Newport, OR., died May 30, 2017 at home from heart failure.
Scott was born in Seattle, WA in the same hospital as his wife Stephanie was born in, just three years later. It was a love story destined to unfold.
Scott attended South Eugene High School where he was an All-Star athlete, lettering in both baseball and basketball. He went on to graduate from the University of Oregon with a degree in Business.
Scott’s love of sports kept him active as a coach throughout his life. He coached basketball at South Eugene High School as well as Newport High School. Scott’s ability to coach was also reflected in his daily life. He had the gift of being an excellent communicator, leader and promoter of others. His sense of humor always kept the room laughing and entertained.
Scott and his wife Stephanie met in Seattle while both working at Salty’s restaurant. After marrying, they decided to move to Newport to open their own restaurant, Café Stephanie, and raise their children in a small, close community. It was a blessing to be so involved in the lives of the local families as they grew up. Scott was a dedicated father and husband who put his family above all else. He made sure to tell his family everyday how much he loved them. He will be missed by all those he leaves behind.
He is survived by his mother and father, Barbara Shulz and Ed Doll; his brothers and sister, Todd, Marc and Colene and their spouses; his wife Stephanie and two children, Dylan and Zoe.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of such a loving family man, Scott would be pleased to know his family was able to make some well-needed home repairs. Please send your contribution or offers of handyman services to the Doll family. Thank you for so much support through this tough time.
