Roy S. Criswell passed away February 21, 2020 at Chandler Regional Hospital in Chandler, Arizona. He and Jean had been staying with her daughter Dede and son-in-law Ken Neal in Maricopa, Arizona at the time.
Roy S. Criswell was born June 20, 1926 in Laverne, OK to the late Smith and Mary Criswell. Upon his mother's passing in the early 1930's, his father moved Roy and his brother Clyde to Kalama, WA. He then graduated high school and joined the US Navy in 1944, where he served on the USS Bowie as a Yeoman 3rd Class. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in June of 1946 and returned to Kalama where he married his first wife Jean and had daughter Susy. In 1958 he married his second wife Lois and moved her and their three children Sandy, Randy and Cindy to Toledo, OR where David was born shortly thereafter.
Roy was employed by Georgia Pacific Paper Mill for over 30 years, starting out as a stock prep and retiring as Safety Director in 1988. During his employment at Georgia Pacific he also opened up Mr. Cris's Drive-In and enjoyed the food industry with his family.
After divorcing Lois, he met Jean Cusick in 1986. They lived in Toledo, OR., New Westminister, B.C. and Lincoln City, OR. They enjoyed fishing, camping, cards, reading, traveling and quality time together.
He is survived by sister Louise; children Sandy, Susy (Warren), Randy, Cindy (Dave) and David (Stacey); 6 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
He is preceded by his sisters Hazel and Lilah; his brother Clyde and his granddaughter Callie.
Roy will be greatly missed by family and friends.
