Rosa Maria Rodriguez Houston, born in Torreon, Coahuila Mexico on September 26, 1932, was reunited with her husband in heaven on July 31, 2017 at 11:40am. Rosa was surrounded by her loved ones and was at peace as she was embraced into the arms of her loving father.
Rosa Maria Rodriguez met Ken Houston in Juarez, Mexico in 1957 where they fell in love. They raised 7 children and lived in many places including Missouri, Virginia, Texas, California and Oregon. Rosa loved adventure and travel and eventually settled down in Oregon surrounded by her family. Despite all the moving, Mom never backed down from an adventure. She traveled to Spain, Europe, Mexico and Vietnam and all over the United States. She enjoyed traveling well into her 70’s and 80’s. She crossed the country several times visiting her grandchildren until the final months of her illness. Her passion was volunteering with the Hispanic community and is well known and loved by many. Rosa raised her family to be a faith-based, tough-minded, and fun-loving family. She modeled these qualities daily, even when she was driving the ladies from her prayer group around town until succumbing to illness.
