Robert (Bob, Bobby, Dad and beloved Papa) LeRoy Elliott of Five Rivers, Oregon died September 30, 2017 at the Evergreen Hospice Home in Albany, OR with his family by his side.
Robert was born in Monroe, Oregon to Walter and Louise Elliott (Spangler) and attended school at Greenberry and in Corvallis. He lived in Monroe, Oregon as a child and worked alongside his brothers and sisters on the family farm. He served in the Army from 1952-1954 then eventually moved to the Five Rivers area and lived with his brother Monty. He met the love of his life Sandra Morris in 1957 in Waldport and they were married in December 1958 in Newport, Oregon.
Robert worked as a Logger with Elliott Logging with his brother Monty for many years and also worked for a time at the Brand S Mill in Five Rivers then he eventually landed a job with the Local 701 Union and ran Heavy Machinery. He worked throughout Oregon with the Union and our family was able to visit and enjoy many of the locations. He retired in 1997 and enjoyed cutting wood, spending time with family and working around the old homestead up Five Rivers that he and Sandy bought in 1962.
He was a kind man with a great sense of humor who loved his family immensely! He always put his family first and always provided us with stability and a place to call home. Robert is survived by his wife Sandra; his children: Tim, Tom, Tina (Ben), and Tara (Cactus); 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandson’s. He has many relatives in the Tidewater, Florence and the Monroe area also.
A celebration of life will occur at the family homestead at a later date.
