Robert (Bob) Leroy Field March 11, 1948-July 4, 2020
Bob was born March 11, 1948 in Salem, OR to parents Harvey and Ruby (Cook) Field. He grew up in the Salem area. Bob was a Vietnam Vet and proud of his service to our country. He was laid to rest at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, OR with Military Honors.
When he first came to the Newport area in the early 70’s he was a commercial salmon fisherman running his own dory. He later became the owner of B+B Boat Builders. After he closed his shop he was a millwright and pipefitter. One of his pipefitting jobs was at the Aquarium fitting pipe for the glass tube. He was a man of many talents. He was a life time member of the Newport Elks and Eagles. Bob loved to fish, hunt, and go camping and all things outdoors.
Bob leaves behind his wife and partner of 27 years, Cora Field of South Beach, OR, son Craig and wife Shelly Field, grandsons Chance and Keaton Field all of Tigard, OR, stepdaughter Tessa Cool of South Beach, OR and step grandson Trenton Cool of New Jersey and many cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Ruby Field, Sister Carol Pallus, niece Angelia Pallus and step son James Yarbrough.
A celebration of life will be held when it is safe to do so.
