When Oregon State’s Cadyn Grenier popped up behind the first base line with two outs in the ninth inning, Jake Postlewait grabbed something and tossed it across his living room thinking that the Beavers had lost to the Arkansas Razorbacks in the championship series of the College World Series.
The devastation of watching his team come up just short of a national title started to set in.
“Everybody started crying,” said Postlewait, an assistant coach Mid-Coast Dungies’ staff. “It was one of those deals where that’s not how you want to end it, at least get the ball in play, make them make a play, even a routine play would have been better than a popup in foul territory.”
