Plans are underway for the third annual Lincoln County Women's March, which has a goal of helping restore human rights and the rule of law to the country. The march will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, starting at Newport City Hall. The route and other details will be announced at a later date.

The local event joins the Women's March on Washington, the Portland and Salem marches and sister marches nationwide. The march is sponsored by Central Oregon Coast NOW Foundation and Lincoln County Democrats.

The local group supports the original vision of the National Women's March organization, "a women-led movement bringing together people of all genders, ages, races, cultures, political affiliations, disabilities and backgrounds to affirm our shared humanity and pronounce our bold message of resistance and self-determination.”
