Patricia Ann Merrill of Seal Rock passed away Sunday, December 29th 2019 at the age of 78, surrounded by family and friends during her hospice care. Born March 19th 1941 in Greeley Colorado, Patricia was suddenly orphaned at the age of 3 due to a tragic car accident that killed both her parents. She then went to Montana to be raised by relatives Harold and Helen Wester.
Patricia obtained formal education at Emerson University in Boston, MA. In 1963, she met and married the love of her life Fredric Merrill; their 28 year marriage included love, laughter, and plenty of adventure. After the passing of her dear husband Fredric, Patricia found the strength make a life for herself starting with obtaining a drivers license and move permanently to the Oregon coast. She often said “there is no place more beautiful”, and for 30 plus years she managed to have a fulfilling and successful life with her children and businesses.
Her love and interest consisted of doting and spoiling her family and pets. A profound collector herself, she was in constant pursuit of quality antiques and treasures. She had a wild side too that loved the potential luck when playing Keno or beat the odds at her favorite game blackjack.
Patricia was known to make the best Dungeness Crab Soup that would make her family flock to grab their share before it disappeared. She also had a fond love for dogs, animals and birds, history, antiquing for items, and all forms of gaming.
Patricia is predeceased by her husband Fredric who lost his battle with cancer in 1992 and her daughter Krystalla who passed on Feb 25, 2016. She survived by one daughter Wynn Merrill and Nancy (Patricia’s dog); two granddaughters Abra and Hannah; four great grand children Slater, Denali, Marlee and Maddison.
As a family we intend to celebrate her life each and every day...“When in doubt, trust your heart”.
