Man cited for driving while suspended
At around 7:15 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9, an Oregon State Police officer pulled over a Mitsubishi Eclipse for a routine traffic violation on Highway 101 near milepost 139 in Newport.
The officer discovered that the driver, Zachary Fall, 39, was driving while suspended and had no proof of insurance. The driver was cited, and the vehicle was impounded and towed from the scene by Coast Towing.
Woman arrested on drunk-driving charge
An Oregon State Police officer observed a vehicle being driven over the centerline of Highway 101 just before 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10. The officer pulled over the vehicle, a white Chevrolet van, near milepost 124 in Lincoln Beach.
When the officer made contact with the driver, identified as Jacque Walters, 28, of Depoe Bay, she was exhibiting signs of impairment and smelled strongly of alcohol. She consented to, and performed poorly on field sobriety tests, according to an OSP report. Walters was taken into custody and transported to the Lincoln County Jail. She consented to a breath test, which revealed a blood alcohol content of .19 percent, more than double the legal limit.
Walters was cited and released on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving. The vehicle was released from the scene to a sober third party driver.
Man cited on arrest warrant
At around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10, an Oregon State Police officer was contacted by a man standing in the parking lot of the Lincoln County Courthouse, inquiring about the hours of operation.
It was determined the man, identified as Donovan Eugene Carey-Bennett, 22, had a warrant for his arrest issued on Dec. 4 by Lincoln County Circuit Court for failure to appear on a charge of harassing communications. The warrant was confirmed, and the Lincoln County Jail authorized the man to be cited and released.
