Parking, access, wayfinding and other logistics

LINCOLN CITY — Leadership is busy planning the best way to help patients find their way around Lincoln City’s Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital campus next spring, during a four-month period when the new hospital is open, the main parking lot is still under construction and the old hospital is being demolished.

While parking is always a top-of-mind concern, other details need special consideration, such as:

  • Safe transport of inpatients and emergency department patients to the free-standing MRI building located on the far side of the hospital demolition zone.
  • Safe and easy access to the new emergency department for ambulances, private vehicles and pedestrians.
  • Clearly marked parking and pathway to patient registration.
  • Temporary signage, extra volunteer help and lots of information shared with the public and staff will help make this process as smooth as can be.

Meanwhile, subcontractors continue to make progress inside and outside the new hospital building, working in phases. From halls that look nearly ready to be painted to large open spaces still being framed, work is being carefully orchestrated for completion by December.
