Members sought for transportation advisory committee


The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners is seeking new members to serve on the Lincoln County State Transportation Improvement Fund Advisory Committee. This committee advises and assists the county commissioners on matters related to the enhancement of local and regional public transit services provided within Lincoln County.

Those interested in serving on this committee must:

  • reside or work in Lincoln County and be knowledgeable about the public transportation needs of residents or employees located within or traveling to and from the county.
  • represent different constituency groups within the county and also represent the diverse interests, perspectives, geography and demographics of the county. Consideration may also be given to individuals within these categories who are users of public transportation services provided within the county.

Section 122 of Keep Oregon Moving (Oregon House Bill 2017) established a new dedicated source of funding for expanding public transportation service in Oregon called the Statewide Transportation Improvement Fund, or STIF.

Cynda Bruce, director of Lincoln County Transit, said, “The STIF funding makes possible a great opportunity for limited public transit enhancements for Lincoln County."
