MARY ELLA PARKER
June 28, 1929 – May 31, 2020
Mary Ella Parker passed away quietly in the comfort of her home and with family
members present on May 31, 2020. Mary was born in California on June 28,
1929 and had 3 brothers and onesister. Her parents were Hazel Beaman and
Thomas Wells. She married Earnest Parker on September 1, 1946. She was
widowed in 1995. During their 49 years of marriage they raised 8 children:
Sally, Steve, Eileen, Toby, Allan, Mike, Chris and stepson Larry. Mary also
provided a welcoming home to numerous “unofficial” foster children. 13 grand
children, several great grandchildren and one mermaid. Mary lived in the same
home in SouthBeach for over 65 years. In addition to being a wonderful wife
and mother, sheworked as an assistant teacher in middle school with a special
concern forstudents with special needs like dyslexia. She was a gifted quilter
earning many awards at both our Lincoln County Fair and the Oregon State Fair.
She served as superintendent of the Craft portion of the Lincoln County Fair for
over 20 years. She was a sculptor, taught in Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops and
was a licensed graphologist. In accordance with Mary’s wishes, she was
cremated, and her ashes sprinkled in her beloved Pacific Ocean. A Celebration of
Mary’s life will be held during the Parker Annual Family Reunion.
