Forever loved sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend gained her angel wings on July 24th 2020 in Newport Oregon. Marion was born on March 26th 1944 in Astoria Oregon.
A lifelong resident of Oregon, she grew up in a military family as her father was a career Coast Guard member, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer running many bases throughout Oregon.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Pauline Lawrence. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Jerry Illingworth, daughters Ann Illingworth (Bruce Campbell), Paula Illingworth Simpson (Zane), brothers, Mark Lawrence (Joyce), Harold “Bud” Lawrence (Elizabeth), and chosen daughter Lisa Markle. Numerous grandchildren, that she loved to spoil, Connor, Dalton, Josh, Brooke, Damon, Curtis and Megan.
Marion owned several craft and gift stores throughout her life, beginning with the Country Chick in Tigard Oregon, The Paper Cove in Newport Oregon and finally Illingworth’s Gifts on Nye Beach in Newport Oregon. She enjoyed her time volunteering with Altrusa, making the community a better place. She loved to decorate for all holidays and shop for those hidden treasures. Christmas was her favorite holiday. You could count on her having numerous beautifully decorated trees in her home. She had a collection of over 1000 Santa Claus, which were always amazing to see. Her favorite family time was preparing huge meals and then S’mores by the fire pit for dessert.
“Death leaves heartache, no one can heal… But Love leaves a Memory no one can steal.”
Marion loved life and had a true kind heart and will be forever missed.
