KYAQ FM, the only community radio station in Lincoln County, will be holding an online silent auction from Dec. 1-15. This unique event is an important fundraiser for KYAQ, as financial support comes primarily from listeners and local underwriters such as Red Lotus Music and the Nye Beach Café. KYAQ does not receive any funding from federal or state agencies and depends on the generosity of its listeners to support independent radio broadcasting.

KYAQ’s broadcast schedule, which can be found at www.kyaq.org, runs 24/7 and offers a wide range of programming, from Amy Goodwin’s award-winning “Democracy Now” and David Barsamian’s “Alternative Radio,” to local shows such as “Rock Through the Ages” with Dave Huntington; “Latin Corner” with Angel Jimenez; “Healthy Diet, Healthy Planet” with Maia and Michael Stout; “Dead and Friends” with Jim Vanhoeck, and many more. KYAQ also airs local news and weather every weekday from 12–12:30 p.m., with host Bill Dalbey. Public Service Announcements are announced on air and available online on KYAQ’s community calendar.

All through November, volunteers collected donations from community members and local businesses. These donations include a night’s stay at an AirBnB, multiple gift certificates for local restaurants, CDs from Bartow & the Backseat Drivers, kites, books, clothing, art work and much more.  For detailed information about how to bid for an item, visit the KYAQ website at www.KYAQ.org.  KYAQ can be heard at 91.7 FM and by streaming online at www.KYAQ.org.
