In a two-week Spotlight Pedestal Show from Feb. 8-21, the Yaquina Art Association will be featuring the artwork of artist Marsha Christian. The Yaquina Art Association Gallery is located in Nye Beach at 789 NW Beach Drive. Hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day.

Christian has worked with stained glass about 38 years. Her interest began when she wanted to find a hobby that would give her son something to do with his time. He made one piece, but Christian discovered that she couldn’t stop at just one glass project. That is where her passion for glass started and remains strong today. She loves working with glass and when it just comes alive before her eyes. It brings her joy to see people’s reactions to a finished piece.

Christian has also found a new love for jewelry. She is drawn to precious stones and all that you can make with them. She especially loves combining the stones with glass beads and creating one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry.
