Local credit union supports hospital, community college

TLC, a division of Fibre Federal Credit Union, has partnered with selected colleges and hospitals within its field of membership for a multi-year grant program. From 2018 to 2020, TLC distributed $87,000 in grants to four college foundations and eight hospital foundations.

In Lincoln County, grant recipients were the Pacific Communities Health District Foundation and the Oregon Coast Community College Foundation.

Funding for the hospital foundation supported the purchase and installment of artwork from local artists along the Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital corridors. According to Foundation Director Ursula Marinelli, the presence of artwork can have a soothing effect for patients and visitors and increase overall comfort during a hospital visit. Funding provided to the OCCC Foundation supported the general scholarship fund.

Every year, TLC makes numerous charitable donations to community organizations through its Community Investment Program. This program is a focused effort to use financial contributions and volunteer efforts to improve education, health services and quality of life within its service area.
