Monthly awards distributed

The Newport Chamber of Commerce chose the October Employee of the Month award winner, Rhonda Holiday from Safeway, and the October Beautification Location winner, Noble Estate Wine Tasting Room.

The October Employee of the Month, Rhonda Holiday, works as a deli clerk at Safeway in Newport. Holiday has worked at Safeway for more than 30 years. She was nominated by Safeway customers Julia and Ben Ryan, who wrote, “Rhonda is amazing. She is an excellent example of great customer service. She is friendly and remembers all her customers’ names and orders. We get sandwiches from the deli just about every week, and Rhonda always has a sunny attitude, even if she is working on a large order or is very busy, or if there’s a long line of customers. She consistently shows great service, and you can tell she enjoys getting to know people and helping them.”

The chamber committee also awarded Noble Estate Wine Tasting Room, located at 146 SW Bay Blvd, for their beautification efforts. They have created a beautiful garden oasis patio with colorful ceramic pots, planter boxes and hanging baskets filled with wild colors of flowers, along with tables and chairs with small lights hung for evenings.

Great customer service and exterior business appearance is essential to the coastal economy, and the Chamber recognizes the important role of these efforts. Nomination forms for both awards can be found online at www.newportchamber.org, or call the Chamber office at 541-265-8801.
