Linda Carol Dodson, 68, of Newport, died in a solo car accident September 17, 2019.
She was born in Riverdale, Illinois and graduated from Eastern Illinois University where she majored in art, music and education. She excelled in all.
Linda was a longtime resident of Southern California before moving to Newport in 2014.
She enjoyed volunteering at the PAC and was actively involved with the Yaquina Art Association. Linda’s art is sensitive and fluid and can be seen at the Yaquina Art Gallery.
She was noted for her glorious singing voice, rich, smooth as silk, warm as a cozy fire on a snowy day. Her laughter rumbled up from the very depths of her soul. She was a fine and gifted performer and shared her gift of humor with everyone she encountered.
She is survived by two brothers, Robert and wife Sue of Anthem, AZ and Gerald (Jerry) and wife Glynda of Coleman, Texas, five nephews and one niece as well as their families. Her extended family is Sonya Elena, Laura Sheriff, Josh Sheriff, her godson, and Lucy, the dog.
Thank you, Linda, for all the wonderful memories, the opportunities, and most of all the laughter.
