In Rod Losier’s classroom at Newport High School, there’s a wall littered with photos.
It’s a shrine of the now-Newport head football coach that dates back to his early coaching days at Taft, and when he was the head coach at Waldport.
There are photos of teams he coached when some of Newport High’s athletes — Jake Tucker, Kolby Spink and Losier’s son, Luke — were miniature versions of their current selves playing youth sports.
One of the few individual photos in a sea of team photos is of Eddie Townsend, now the head coach of the Toledo basketball team, as an eighth-grade basketball player. Like an autographed baseball card, the photo is signed “Eddie Townsend #23”
“Classic Eddie,” Losier said.
