Learn about Telecommunication Devices Access Program

For those who have difficulty communicating on the telephone, the Oregon Telecommunications Relay Service and the Telecommunication Devices Access Program (TDAP) may have a solution.

TDAP is a state government program that loans specialized communications equipment at no cost and with no income restrictions to eligible Oregon residents who have experienced hearing loss, vision loss, mobility limitations, speech or memory issues. This equipment includes corded or cordless amplified phones, captioned phones, big button phones, speakerphones, electrolarynxes, cellphones, tablets or speech-generating devices.

Anyone wanting to learn about these opportunities is encouraged to attend a presentation from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Newport 60+ Activity Center, located at 20 SE Second St. For more information, call at 541-265-9617.
