Keith A. Martin passed away in Lakeview OR on Wednesday, November 7th, 2018 at the age of 62. Keith was born to Edward and Virginia (Parks) Martin on January 29th, 1956 in Newport OR. Keith spent his early childhood in Lincoln county, mainly Newport and the Elk city/Harlan area until 1967 when the family moved to Adel OR. He attended and graduated from Lakeview high school in 1974. After graduation he worked on various ranches; Gipson, McNeely and ZX to name a few. He then moved back to Newport and commercially fished for a short time and pulled green chain at Publishers Lumber Mill before starting his career as a truck driver. He drove for McDonald beverage briefly and then moved to log trucks, chip trucks and rock trucks, Henarie trucking and Tri-agg. Everyone knew him by his CB handle “cannon”. In 1982 he married Mary Ann Henarie. They had 3 sons, Alex, Eric and Brian and raised his family in Toledo. In 2005 he moved back to Lakeview where he worked for Woodgrain Millworks until he retired. Keith loved to hunt and fish, garden, collect coins and really loved his cats. Keith is preceded in death by his parents, and his son Brian Martin. He is survived by his Sisters; Beverly Fidler of Oregon City, OR and Barb (Delbert) Davis of Lakeview, OR, brothers; Ken (Luci) Martin of Glendale, OR and Bob Martin of Lakeview, OR, his sons; Alex (Sheryle) Martin of Toledo, OR and Eric (Sam) Martin of Toledo, OR, 3 Grandsons; Taylor, Trevor and Luke Martin all of Toledo, OR, Many Nieces and Nephews and a longtime friend “Dead Eye”. He will be greatly missed. There will be a Celebration of Life on Monday, November 19, 2018 @ 11:00 A.M. at Outback Assembly of God Church, Lakeview, OR with Pastor Joel Morris officiating, with a potluck to follow after the service. An additional service will be held in Toledo on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 12pm at the Eagles lodge. The committal will be held at the Eddyville Cemetery, in Eddyville, OR. Memorial contributions in Keith’s memory may be made to Oregon Outback Humane Society, PO Box 206, Lakeview, OR 97630; Lake District Hospital C/O Cancer Travel Fund, 700 South J Street, Lakeview, OR 97630 or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Desert Rose Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
