Katherine Leech Gordon, 40, of Toledo, died peacefully at home, March 8, 2017, surrounded by family and friends. All will miss her contagious smile and sparkling green eyes, but her adventurous spirit and inappropriate sense of humor are forever imprinted on the hearts of all who knew her. The daughter of Jerry and Shereda Leech, also of Toledo, Katie took pride in growing up in a close-knit community. With her husband, Chad Gordon, they left Portland and came back home to raise their girls, Hannah and Elena, surrounded by family and friends, both old and new.
After graduating from Toledo High School, Katie earned a Science degree from University of Oregon, and her doctorate of dentistry from Creighton University in Omaha. After returning home, she bought into Family Dental Group where she made many life-long friends.
Katie enjoyed most everything but cleaning, she loved planning adventurous trips with her family and cheering from the sidelines of her daughters’ games. Equally comfortable in heels or muddy boots, she’d try anything once as long as it wasn’t too high up. And then she’d still do it if you told her she couldn’t.
Katie is survived by her husband Chad; two daughters, Hannah and Elena; her parents Jerry and Shereda Leech; and sister, Connie Morgan.
Memorial services will be at 3pm on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at South Beach Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 555 East 51st Street, Washington, DC 55505.
