Join the Oregon Coast Council for the Arts for an ultimate dining experience on Tuesday, July 9, at 6 p.m. Travel back in time and dine with William Shakespeare at the Tables of Contents Restaurant at the Sylvia Beach Hotel in Newport.
This “Mid-Summer Night’s Feast” will include peaseblossom soup, Julius Caesar salad, platters of handmade wild boar sausages, salmon cakes and roast chicken, topped off with strawberry/gooseberry foole w/Shrewsbury cake — a vegetation option is available upon request.
After dinner, Shakespeare will engage in storytelling and answer questions from the diners. This experience features Rod Molzahn, as Shakespeare. He brings his many years as a Shakespearian scholar to Newport and takes the audience back to the early 1600s for a delightful, informative and interactive evening of fine food and august company.
Cost for the dinner is $45, with a portion helping to underwrite Shakespeare Camp. A limited number of diners will be invited to dine at Shakespeare’s table for $55. Diners are also welcome to choose from the no host, extensive beer and wine list.
Later in the week, experience the 2019 production, “Love’s Labours Lost,” on Thursday, July 11, at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Newport Performing Arts Center.
