During the past year, Jerry was lovingly cared for at the Oregon Veterans Home – Memory Care, Lebanon, OR for which the family is extremely grateful. He was born and raised in Providence, RI. After his tour of duty in the U.S. Navy, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in commercial art from Long Beach State University in California. He then spent several years working for various art-related companies until he and his wife moved to Newport, OR in 1981 where they established “Jerry White & Associates” producing signs and advertising for many local enterprises for more than 30 years. He was active in the Newport Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber Ambassadors and was an amateur wine maker who won many awards at the Seafood and Wine Festival. He loved to tell jokes and always had a smile.
He is survived by his wife, Opal, 2 step-children, 3 nephews and several great nephews and nieces. No services are planned at this time, perhaps later in the spring.
