When disaster strikes, would you know what to do to help yourself and your family? A free seminar in Newport on Wednesday, Sept. 11, will get you started in becoming better prepared for emergencies. It will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Center for Health Education, located at 740 SW Ninth St.
Being prepared for disasters before they strike helps reduce fear and anxiety and can also help reduce the harmful impacts to homes and lives.
Join local experts Ericka Mason, emergency manager for Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital, and Regina Martinez, emergency manager for the city of Newport, as they discuss how to get started in creating your disaster preparedness plan.
