Construction has begun at the corner of NW 14th Street and Highway 101 to bring the first Fred Meyer fueling station to Lincoln County. Workers are already making visible progress in preparing the site for gasoline and diesel tanks underground.
In December, a spokesman for Fred Meyer Inc. told the News-Times that the company has planned for five dispensers with both diesel and gasoline offered at each. Additionally, the station is planned to sell a limited selection of food, drinks and tobacco products.
The News-Times requested information on the station’s anticipated opening date, but Fred Meyer Inc. failed to respond before press time. If construction continues on schedule, however, Lincoln County residents and visitors could begin fueling up with Fred Meyer some time this summer.
Currently, the nearest Fred Meyer stations are located to the east in Corvallis, to the south in Florence and to the north in the city of Tillamook.
Fred Meyer Rewards members will be able to receive discounts on fuel at the station, using fuel points earned by shopping at Fred Meyer stores anywhere. For more information about fuel savings, visit www.fredmeyer.com or stop in at a Fred Meyer location.
