In a two-week Pedestal Spotlight Show from July 13-26, the Yaquina Art Association will be featuring the fiber art of Robin Adcock.

The Yaquina Art Association Gallery is located at 789 NW Beach Drive in Newport. Hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Adcock says, “When I sew, I am in my happy place.” A happy memory is when her grandma gave Adcock her first sewing machine when she was 8 years old. And she has always marveled at the amazing quilts that her mother made for everyone in the family.

Adcock collects fabric whenever she travels. She is currently working on totes, small purses, aprons and hobo bags with fabric from Maui, Missouri and Arizona. She finds that it is very rewarding to blend fabrics with patterns to achieve a colorful, purposeful item.
