NEWPORT — Sue Graves, safety coordinator at the Lincoln County School District, earned a Master of Arts degree in security studies, deepening her already very deep well of knowledge in helping keep students safe.
The 18-month program, which she graduated from on March 30, looked at homeland security across all different disciplines, including fire, police, hospitals and schools, cities and emergency managers. “All kinds of things related to the security and safety of a jurisdiction,” Graves said during an April 9 telephone interview. “It was an amazing program, and I’m really thankful I had the opportunity to do it.”
