Ellen Suzanne Cavicchioni left us behind on Oct. 21, 2018. Suzanne was born in Lansing, Michigan on June 17, 1949. Raised there, she later attended the University of Michigan. She also worked in her family’s floral business, where she learned her wonderful touch with flowers. Suzanne then traveled, overseas and in the U.S. as far as Alaska, before alighting in Newport around 1984. She met a fisherman, Jim Dunaway, and they remained together for over 20 years
until his passing in 2007. Then, after some years, she met Ted Holland. Ted and Suzanne remained together until her passing. Ted introduced her to a different world. Imagine Suzanne out in the woods looking for potential logging sites. It happened! Suzanne leaves behind Ted, her sisters Gayla Valle and Jare Golchoff, both of Yakutat, Alaska; Her nephews, Joe and Max Valle, also of Alaska. There isn’t enough ink to include all her friends that love and mourn her, but a special mention for Kathy Hendrix, now of Hawaii, her and her sister’s friend from childhood. Families in Michigan and beyond are also remembered. Suzanne follows her parents, Joseph and Nancy in death. A gathering is planned for December 8th 12:30 to 3:00pm at Yaquina Bay Yacht Club. All who knew and loved her are welcome.
