The Logsden Community Club will host two informational presentations in conjunction with its monthly potluck at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 9.
Staff of Bright Horizons Therapeutic Riding Center, located near Siletz, will give an overview of the facility, its purpose and its benefits to the community. Bright Horizons exists to improve the physical and emotional wellbeing of individuals and their families through therapeutic equestrian activities built on professionalism and trust with a focus on community education, communication and teamwork.
Following the presentation by Bright Horizons, Allison Blair, community wildfire forester with the Oregon Department of Forestry will gave a talk on a subject that concerns many people during the dry summer months — forest fires.
Everyone is welcome to attend these informative presentations, visit with old friends, make new friends and bring a dish to enjoy the potluck.
The Logsden Community Club donates a portion of its profits back to the community, including the Siletz Valley Volunteer Firefighters. The community club, located at the junction of the Logsden/Siletz Highway and Moonshine Park Road, is available to rent for weddings, family reunions, memorials and other celebrations. The facility also houses a commercial kitchen for cottage industry entrepreneurs who market culinary items and is a designated emergency shelter. Rental rates for events at the facility are reduced for individuals who become members of the Logsden Community Club.
