NEWPORT — In the first complete league, three-game series of the season, the Mid Coast Dungies accomplished what has been a rare feat in the previous two seasons — winning a league series.
With an 8-2 win on Sunday, July 1, and a doubleheader split on Monday (an 8-1 win and a 6-3 loss) against the Keizer Crushers, the Dungies secured their second series win since 2016 and put an end to the two-game skid they were on entering the series.
“We put on a pretty good offensive display (on Sunday) and in the first game today,” said head coach Taylor Plesha. “It’s kinda deflating to not sweep a team that we thought we should sweep but really good starting pitching, Bridge struggled early today but then kept us in it and did his job.”
