Drum Circle meets Tuesday in Newport

The Newport Community Drum Circle will be drumming next Tuesday (July 16) for the first time since its appearances at the 2019 Lincoln County Fair and the Gleneden Beach Fourth of July Celebration. Drum Circle leader Chandler Davis says the group will be fired up.

“Several of us will also be just returning from three days at the 50th anniversary Oregon Country Fair in Veneta and inspired by the nonstop music and drumming there,” said Davis. He predicts a “high energy session” of the regular monthly drum circle Tuesday, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the enclosed gazebo at Don and Ann Davis Park, across from the Newport Performing Arts Center in Nye Beach.

The long-running, year-round rhythm jam is family friendly and alcohol, drug and smoke free. All ages and skill levels are welcome, no experience is needed, and there are loaner drums and other instruments for those who don’t have their own.
