Donations needed for cleanup effort

A double rainbow appears above the command center for volunteer cleanup efforts in Otis a few weeks after Labor Day wildfires ravaged the area. The Echo Mountain Volunteer Cleanup Project, which cleaned 36 home sites since tackling the task just after the evacuation order for the area was lifted, is in need of donations and volunteers to keep the effort going. Those interested in volunteering can contact Melynda Small at 541-418-2773. Donations can be made at, the website of the Cascade Relief Team, a nonprofit organization supporting the project’s efforts and the work of Salmon River Grange Distribution Center for wildfire victims.
