Dennis Vore was born in Portland, Oregon, April 26th, 1946 to Ned and Hilda Vore. He grew up in the Sellwood district and graduated from Benson High School before joining the United States Navy. He was sent to serve his country in Vietnam as a Navy Seabee. Upon returning from war to Portland, OR he worked for Hyster Co. and then joined his uncle in his wheel alignment business. In 1974 he married Charlene and had 4 children. Following that, he took training in Portland to become a police officer, He was proud of his time there. Upon completion of the training he went to work for the Toledo Police Dept. After 2 years there he then went to work for Georgia Pacific, Toledo as a safety officer for the next 20 years. He went on from there to become a long-haul trucker, dump truck driver for WW Construction and then settled on school bus driving for Lincoln County – his favorite job.
He was a member of the South Lincoln Christian Church where he raised his family in the Lord Jesus. For health reasons, he left Waldport after 40 years to be near his son and family and daughter and family in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. When the time drew near to leave this world he told his family he was going home. May he Rest in Peace in the arms of his eternal Lord and Savior. He is survived by his wife Charlene, daughters Kristine (Scott) Ramsdell – Brenda (Noah) Johnson. Sons Joshua (Sarah) Vore and Nathan (Rhonda) Vore and 6 wonderful grandsons, Cyrus, Kai, Liam & Holden Vore; Emmett Johnson and Caleb Vore.
