The annual Newport Dance Workshop, set for Saturday, Oct. 12, will be held at Dance! And All That Jazz! by returning Los Angeles instructors/choreographers Bill Prudich, Amanda Leise and KC Monnie.
“This is an excellent opportunity for our local dance students to be able to study from professionals in the industry who are current with the most up-to-date material,” said Teri Jernigan, director of Dance! And All That Jazz! “These artists perform and teach throughout the world and are extremely knowledgeable about auditioning and making dance a profession.”
Many dance students from throughout Oregon will be attending the event.
Bill Prudich is the executive director of the world-renowned EDGE Performing Arts Center and co-director of the EDGE Scholarship Program. He is an instrumental component of the corporation and has been involved in every aspect of its operation from its beginning.
While Prudich worked professionally as a dancer and actor, he began teaching dance in Los Angeles in 1983. His comedic style and knack for making students understand quickly established him as a highly sought-after teacher in Los Angeles and throughout the United States for private workshops and conventions. His teaching career has taken him throughout the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, where he is an advisor for a dance syllabus. In 1988, Prudich and collaborator Randy Allaire created the professional training program. The renowned customized and comprehensive training program completes and establishes aspiring professional dancers.
